How I got started in 'the biz'
I've been working on film and video productions since 1998 when I got my first P.A. job. That feeling of spontaneous creativity and the magical possibility of making movies just flipped a switch inside of me.
I've been hooked ever since.
Skills
Grip: I have a good track record of collaborating with the D.P. and cinematographer to achieve the "look" they want without causing problems with time or continuity.
Electric: I understand the challenges when it comes to electrical work and how to rig it so the cast and crew can do their jobs without tripping on cables or getting fried.
Dolly: My goal is always to achieve smooth and seamless moves so the D.P. has a smile on his face at the end of the shot.
Camera: I learned how to operate a jib on a malfunctioning Chatman Peewee, which taught me the importance of pre-visualizing a shot so I could make it happen in my head before I had to make it happen with my body.
